Quality Starts with Our Family

We started Nature’s Turn to make the kind of snack we wanted to hand our own child. That’s still the test: every bag has to meet the standard we’d set for our own family.

From Fruit to Bag

It starts with the fruit. We work with our suppliers and production partners to set specifications and sourcing requirements for every fruit and blend, and we keep documentation for the fruit behind every batch.

The fruit is cleaned, prepared, frozen and dried under vacuum using documented production and food-safety controls. Ingredients, finished Fruit Crisps and packaging are then checked against those specifications.

Finally, it’s sealed in multilayer packaging designed to help limit exposure to moisture and oxygen—that’s what keeps it light and crisp. The lot code on every bag lets us trace a product back through production if a question ever comes up.

What’s in Every Bag

• 100% Fruit. Each flavor is made entirely from the fruit or fruit blend in its ingredient statement.
• No Sugar Added. The sweetness comes from the fruit.
• Nothing Artificial. No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
• No Added Sulfites. We don’t add sulfites to hold color or texture.
• Non-GMO Project Verified. Verified through the Non-GMO Project, renewed every year.
• Certified Kosher. Certified by OK Kosher Certification, renewed every year.
• Halal Certified. All current Fruit Crisps are certified halal.
• Gluten-Free and Vegan. No gluten-containing or animal-derived ingredients.
• Free from the Top 12 Allergens. Made in facilities free from the Top 12 Allergens covered by our allergen program.

Allergens and School Safe

Every current Fruit Crisps flavor is made in facilities free from peanuts, tree nuts and the Top 12 Allergens covered by our allergen program. That’s what we mean by School Safe. Ingredients still vary by fruit and blend, so always check the ingredient statement for the flavor you choose—especially if you’re allergic to a fruit itself.

How It’s Checked

Our own oversight is only part of it. Nature’s Turn follows the FDA’s Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), which requires U.S. importers to verify that foreign suppliers produce food to the same safety standards required of U.S. producers. We keep those records for each food and each supplier.

All current production facilities also undergo independent food-safety audits at least once a year. These are the organizations behind our audits, certifications and testing:

Keeping It Crisp

Freeze-dried fruit pulls moisture from the air, so a few simple habits keep it at its best:

• Store unopened bags in a cool, dry place. No refrigeration needed—just keep them away from heat, humidity and direct sun.
• Protect open Fruit Crisps from humidity. Once a bag is open, air is what softens it.
• Finish Lunchbox and Everyday bags the same day. The 0.35 oz and 0.53 oz bags aren’t resealable.
• Reseal 1.2 oz bags tightly. Press out the extra air and close the seal firmly.

Outer cartons can be recycled where accepted. The individual bags use bonded multilayer materials that most curbside programs don’t accept yet.

Something Not Right?

Real fruit varies—color, size and sweetness can differ from bag to bag, and that’s normal. But if a package is open, damaged or swollen, or the fruit shows mold or an unusual odor, don’t eat it. Contact us with the flavor, best-before date, lot code and where you bought it, plus a photo if you can, and we’ll look into it.
